Medium Detective: Fright from the Past Collector's Edition Review
I think the game is fantastic. I'm having a lot of fun with it. As always, try if out for yourself and see what you think. The hidden object scenes are nice but easy, just as the minigames and the entire game. You have an interactive, transporter type map to help you move quickly between locales.
what I like is a good balance between slightly more challenging gameplay elements and easier ones. Don't forgot to look for the Morphing Object in each scene. The HOPS are a lot of fun and there is the usual variety but I still prefer the list type. Medium Detective: Fright from the Past is a must-have game for me. Not only is the game full of things to do, it is also beautiful and just what I have been looking for after all the dreary, colorless games that wrapped up in the past 3 months.
The Strategy Guide, of course, tells you where they are. I found this game surprisingly fun and interesting. The remaining extras are the standard fluff but for new gamers the in-game strategy guide is always a benefit. I actually don't mind easy puzzles, as long as they are fun.
I'm really liking what I'm seeing from this new game. It is a perfect game for a lazy day. All in all, I find Medium Detective: Fright from the Past to be an excellent game and a must-have addition to my gaming library. The graphics are sharp, the cutscenes are top-notch, and the fancy visual effects are sophisticated.
My reviews are based only on what I happen to enjoy in gaming and you might like something different so, as always, please try the demo to see if you might enjoy this amazing game. As always, try the demo first. The Mini Games are very doable, most are of good length and entertaining. We played Medium Detective: Fright from the Past on the easiest difficulty mode, rarely skipped any puzzles, and completed the game in around four hours.
The Mini Games are numerous and entertaining, and most of the puzzles give you the option to play the game in either an Easy of Hard mode which is a feature I really like. It is certainly on my buy list. I am playing these games to relax and for their entertainment value so I don't want to be stressed to much with puzzles I can't solve. There was never a moment of boredom playing the game.
The HOPS are excellent and varied with some being different than those normally seen. There is a good jump map available, that shows where an available task is located, It's just nice to have a fun and relaxing game to play. This is one of them. Some of the cutscenes were clear and the colors crisp.
In this Collector's Edition version, there's always the built in Strategy Guide to help you.
